Seattle - Family, Friends, Food
Late last night I returned to balmy Singapore after spending 3 action-packed weeks in Seattle. As always Kingsley and I wanted to see as much of our family and friends as we could so we crammed a lot into a few short weeks. We did coffee, brunch, lunch and dinner (sometimes even two dinners in one night) we enjoyed sushi, mexican, seafood, spanish tapas, Japanese hot pot, poker parties and all sorts of other food and fun in-between. We are now happily exhausted, slightly dazed from jet lag, and seriously ready to get back to the gym!
My favorite rolls-
Belltown Barbie - crab-mayo mix, avocado & cucumber, topped
w/ seared salmon, green onions, tobiko, sweet mayo, sweet chili & teriyaki sauce
Bad Boy - bbq eel, avocado, cream cheese & crab-mayo mix fried, served w/ spicy mayonnaise &teriyaki sauce
007 - spicy tuna, avocado, cucumber & cilantro, wrapped w/ salmon, lime, shishito pepper &jalapeƱos
Japanese Nabemono (hot pot) dinner with Josh and Shari and my parents. Its kind of like fondue where you heat up broth in one big pot and add items in to be cooked. My favorites were the scallops, pumpkin and sweet potato.
Dinner with a few friends from the paragliding crowd at Woodmans Lodge in Snoqualmie. A great place to go for steak and potatoes.
Seafood dinner at Blue Acre with Sharon and Dave. Our very special friends who moved to Singapore from Seattle the same week we did! It was so fun to discover "blog worthy moments" together and have friends to share with as we learned about our new home. They recently moved back to Seattle which was very sad for us but we are thankful they are in Seattle so we will still see each other often. After our usual Singapore Sunday evening picnics in the park in shorts and tshirts we almost didn't recognize each other in jeans and turtlenecks!
Miranda flew in from Montana for the weekend for Carmen's baby shower and enjoyed a special girls night out at the Cactus - my favorite Mexican restaurant. We reminisced about the good old days, laughed till we cried, and caught up on each others lives. Thankful to have such great friends in my life!
Dinner with the girls at the new Black Bottle restaurant in Bellevue.
Awesome sushi at Umi Sake House in Belltown.

Dinner at the Space Needle with both sets of parents. It means so much to me that both Kingsley and my parents get along so well and that we truly enjoy spending time together sharing stories and catching up. The view of the city was spectacularly clear that evening.
Looks like you had some lovely meals with some very special people!
