Cynthia's Birthday in Singapore

About 3 years ago my friend Cynthia came to Singapore for a visit and in mid October this year she returned to Singapore for another visit and to celebrate her birthday with us.

Unfortunately, she picked up the flu AND a sinus infection on her way out here...probably from the flight... so her first few days here were pretty miserable for her.  But, like a good friend, I brought her to Raffles Hospital Urgent Care Clinic (I seem to take an awful lot of our guests there!) and after starting on some antibiotics she began feeling much better.  Thankfully this was just in time for our Halloween Quiz night at the Singapore Cricket Club.  Cynthia was our secret weapon that night with many of the odd trivia facts she knew!  We didn't get first place but we also didn't come in dead last so we were really happy with our performance.

Cynthia was Marilyn Monroe, I was a 1920's girl (though someone said they thought I was a ninja) and Kingsley was a super cool hippie dude and was very proud to be wearing a shirt that he bought for himself at university.

A few days later we had a girls night out at Ku De Ta in Singapore as grand finale to the birthday celebrations.  The view at Ku De Ta is always so impressive and we had fun dancing the night away though I couldn't believe it when I looked down at my watch and saw it was 2:30am!  Poor Kingsley was waiting up for us when we got home!

Seattle Summer 2014

I spent 5 weeks in Seattle this summer enjoying some of the most glorious weather.  Seattle is a great city year round but summers are when it really shines.  When I was booking my trip 5 weeks seemed like such a long time but between working and seeing friends and family it yet again somehow managed to fly by.

Some of my highlights of the trip in no particular order were:

Playing with my Nephews
Being there for both my brothers birthdays
Spending time with family
Eating Mexican Food
End of summer sales
Boston concert at St. Michelle winery
Eating Mexican Food
Seahawks pre-season game (my first game ever!)
Filling four suitcases full of 50lbs worth of shopping!

Seattle - John and Christine wedding

John Hawk has been a dear friend of Kingsley and mine for many years and has been one of the most eligible bachelors.  He certainly took his time to meet the right lady but he met such a perfect match in Christine.  John and Christine and Kingsley and I bonded last Christmas on our sailing trip around Palawan island in the Philippines.

It was a beautiful wedding on Sept 21st at De Lille winery in Woodinville, Kingsley and I really felt so happy to be there to celebrate their special day.

Seattle - Pinky's Wedding

One of my favorite moments during my 5 week trip to Seattle this summer was being there for two very special friends weddings.  Pinky and I met at work but quickly became friends, we have known each other for about 6 years.

Pinky had a traditional Sikh wedding in Seattle and she was literally the most beautiful bride ever. The ceremony took place at a temple in Renton on Friday - the groom even rode in on a white horse.  On Saturday we celebrated the reception at the Fremont Foundry.  They hired a DJ from Vancouver who did this awesome mix of modern pop songs with Punjabi.  There was even a dance off at the end which was pretty impressive.
