5 Year Anniversary
Five years ago Kingsley and I were walking down the aisle...what a magical day that was. It many ways it all seems like a blur now that I look back on it. It doesn't feel like it was only 5 years ago. It feels like it was just yesterday that our friends and family were gathering to celebrate our union as we said "I do".
Here we are 5 years later and our love has continued to grow stronger as each day passes. It's been an amazing adventure - getting married, buying a house, changing jobs, moving to Singapore, exploring the world. Life together has certainly never been dull. There have been a few rough times, but nothing we haven't triumphed through and they continue to make us stronger. We've made so many amazing memories together. I can't wait for our journey to continue in the many years to come.

Kingsley Taiwan
Kingsley had a work trip in Taiwan last week, in-between work meetings he found a few moments to snap some photos of Taiwan for me.
Bike Sharing stations. Taiwan became the first city in Asia to start a bike-sharing program in its two major cities, Taipei and Kaohsiung. Looking into a way to reduce pollution, the Taiwanese government launched the service hoping commuters will ditch their cars and start using the thousands of rental bikes it has stationed around the two urban centers to get to work.
Love this video that Kingsley took for me. Doraemon was one of the cartoons my brothers and I grew up watching in Japan.
As an added bonus, here is the link to the full Doraemon theme song lyrics, in Japanese romanji with English translation too!
Doraemons favorite food Dorayaki (being made in the video below) is a bean paste pancake sandwich.

Bali - Kingsley's 40th
We celebrated Kingsleys 40th Birthday with a Seafood Banquet at the villa. The villa staff laid out a beautiful table for us and spent the whole day preparing for the dinner.
The evening ended in the media room with a special surprise for Kingsley - a 30 minute video full of short clips from special friends all over the world wishing him a happy birthday. It was an incredible evening and an unforgettable 40th Birthday for Kingsley.
Made (villa manager) went to Jimbaran beach at 5am in the morning to pick out the best seafood fresh off the fishing boats. In the evening he cooked baby lobster, calamari, prawns and fish on the BBQ. See menu below.
Amazing to look around the table and see that John and Carly (Seattle), Roon and Bron (UK), Zimbo and May (South Africa) and Ervin (Seattle) came from all over the world and were able to join us for the birthday dinner.
After dinner we indulged in tropical fruit and ice cream sundaes along with a custom made chocolate mint birthday cake for King sley.

SPG decoy
Today marked the second official meet-up for the newly formed SPG, Singapore Paragliding Gang. Kingsley and his new friend Barun are the founding members. I was nominated and voted in to be the official photographer for the gang before I even knew SPG exsisted. I am also unofficially the decoy for the gang as paragliding in Singapore is actually somewhat illegal. It's my job to sweet-talk the security guards into allowing the members to kite at various locations around Singapore. This requires some slight stretching of the truth on occasion.
Today we met at at the Marina Barrage, which is a beautiful park by the ocean with views of the Singapore Flyer and the new Marina Bay casino. This park is a well known spot for kite flying. When the boys arrrived, put on their gear, and pulled up their wings the entire park stopped and stared. The security guard immediatly started walking quickly across the park heading for the guys so I dutifully intercepted him.
Security Guard (with hand on walkie talkie): "excuse me miss are those kites...or parachutes?"
Decoy Lynn: "oh, those are kites" (said out loud) and parachutes (said in my head)
Security Guard: "do they use these kites to jump off things or just for playing in the park?"
Decoy Lynn: "they could be used to jump off something...but mostly they just like to play with them in the park"
Security Guard (hand is now relaxed by his side): "if they are only kites why do they have such big backpacks on their backs?"
Decoy Lynn: "oh that is used for storing the kite when they are not using it" (as well as back protection and the reserve parachute)
The guard then walked away and returned a while later with a second guard for an additional round of interrogation. I had to manage both of them while fullfilling my duty as the SPG photographer. No easy task but it was well worth the trouble to get a chance to see Kingsley with his glider again. He was so happy, best of all we were not arrested or fined! Cant wait till the next SPG event!

My knight in shining armor...but where's the horse?
I know its just been a few days and I am grocery shopping again, but don't forget that I have to carry home everything I buy. Anyway, I was better prepared for this shopping excursion as I had my handy granny cart with me. I know there are people out there that may mock the granny cart, in fact I used to be one of those people but this cart has saved my life! So I am shuffling along with my very heavy wheeled cart when out of nowhere this handsome man (Kingsley) comes riding up and asks if he can be of assistance. I was only too happy to offer him my (granny) bag which he valiantly accepted then rode off into the sunset...

An unsuspecting 737 pilot
Kingsley is loving his job however he is also working really hard. So, I planned an awesome surprise for him. Only problem is that SOMEONE hates surprises. I had to suffer through days of militant interrogation regarding "the surprise".
"will I like it?"
"how long will we be there?"
"will it be inside or outside?"
but my all time favorite was...
"you are not going to make me dance are you?"
to that I replied...
"dont worry you wont be given that kind of pre-warning when I execute my dancing revenge"
The surprise for Kingsley was an opportunity to spend 60 minutes with a pilot in a 737 flight simulator. They are the exact same simulators that airline pilots spend hours training on before going up in a actual plane.
Kingsley hasn't flown a plane since moving to Singapore so I thought it would be great for him to get back in the (virtual) air. He was pretty nervous to fly again but also incredibly excited. I was allowed to be in the cockpit as well.
We started out at SeaTac airport, I wasnt prepared for how realistic the expereince was. As we took off the first time I caught myself putting my seat belt on!
In 60 minutes we flew in China, Hong Kong, London, and Cape Town

First flight
Been thinking a lot about Seattle this last week, I've been a little homesick since my parents left. Spent some time looking through my photos of Seattle which I'm not sure helped my missing of home but it did bring back lots of great memories.
This was a very special spring day in 2008. Kingsley had just passed his final exams and officially had his fixed wing pilots license. I was his (very nervous) first passenger. Thankfully we had a incident free flight!
The best part of the flight was the beautiful views of the greater Seattle area. The worst part of the flight was the landing...which I did not actually see because I was in the "brace position" and hyperventilating as we came in to land. Not my finest moment!
Snoqualmie falls - where John proposed to Amy

When we flew over lake Sammamish I was able to spot our house. I'll be back there one of these days!

3 year wedding anniversary
Last week Kingsley and I celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary. It was also the last night my parents were in town so we went "out on the town" to probably one of the best Japanese restaurants in Singapore with my parents. It was a bittersweet night, I was sad my parents were leaving but also loved the fact that Kingsley and I were celebrating 3 years of marraige! This last week I was looking through our wedding photos again and couldnt resist posting a few pictures. Such a great day...

Kingsley's first Singapore haircut
For the last 6 years I have only known Kingsley to get his haircut at very traditional barber shops. This is somewhat hard to find in Singapore so out of desperation Kingsley agreed to go to a very nice salon (of my choosing) on Orchard road. With the condition that I would sit next to him during his haircut, I think to make sure he survived the process!
The haircut started off a little strange the woman who cut his hair dumped a bunch of water on his head with some shampoo and proceeded to wash his hair while he was sitting in the chair. Here is the look I was given as she went off in search of another towel:
Also strange (at least for Kingsley) that she never once used an electric razor on his head (which is what his old barber used for 99% of the cut). However, I am happy to report that the end result was THE BEST haircut Kingsley has had in a very long time.

Ascott Hotel- Pool Party
Here is video of Kingsley showing everyone his amazing swimming skills at the Ascott hotel infinity pool on the 19th floor in the middle of Singapores buisness district. It reminds me of being at Seaworld a little bit...
