I am very very happy to share that the two kittens I have been trying to save are now in perfect health!! Twice I took them to the vet and twice I was told there was no way they would make it. I had to fight the vet to let me keep trying and spent countless long nights doing everything in my power to give them a chance. A week and a half ago they finally bounced back and are now providing Kingsley and I hours of entertainment as we watch them eat, play & love us!
In just over a week they are due back to the vet for their first set of immunizations and I cant wait to see his face when I bring back two perfect little kittens.

We got a new techie toy at the Wood household recently and Kingsley has been dying to set it up. Well evidently today was the day to break out the Kinect. Since our xbox and kinect were both purchased in the US it was quite an ordeal to get both machines running at peak performance in Singapore. The "setup ordeal" lasted severl hours and included several trips to the fuse box, 2 voltage converters, 2 blown multi-plug adaptors, and twenty feet of extension cord.
However it was all worth it in the end as I got to see Kingsley make a complete fool of himself attempting to learn (surprisingly) complicated dance moves with Dance Dance Revolution. Of course the last laugh was on me when it was my turn to perform. The game is HARD! And my pride was a touch injured when Kingsley scored significantly more points than I did. Evidently I have my work cut out for me...

Even after living here for over a year I still find something fascinating and/or shocking almost every trip to the grocery store. Yesterday was no exception... I was walking through the meat department of our local market and this caught my eye:
Chicken feet??!! I mean if they are being sold in the grocery store then obviously someone is eating them! It took me a few minutes to compose myself but I finally worked up the courage to do some research to see what kind of recipes were out there featuring chicken feet and WOW there are a lot!

Last night Kingsley and I met up with our friend Suhas who was visiting from India on a work trip. We went to a Thai German Brewery and a long with a live Thai Band we were informed by the waiter that there was a dance competition going on and whoever went on stage and danced the best (voted on by a team of judges) would receive a free drink. I was specifically asked if I would be interested in dancing which was quite possibly the last thing in the world I wanted to do! I prefer to watch other people make fools of themselves rather than to be the fool!
This business man was my all time favorite for the evening, I sure hope he won something because he must have lost some pride!

Having another rough week in the kitten department at the Wood household. Last Wednesday we were given another batch of two all white (2 weeks old) kittens. There were actually 4 of them at the shelter but they decided since they were so young and needed lots of attention that it would be better to split them up into 2 different foster homes. The little ones did great the first day and a half, I was feeding them every 3 hours day and night. Then midway though the second day they started having loose stools and stopped eating. Of course this happened after the SPCA clinic was closed so I spent another all-nighter force feeding them kitten formula every three hours and first thing in the morning took them in to get checked by the vet. He said they were "very sick" with a virus and that they likely would not make it. He went on to share that the other 2 kittens in the litter that went to another foster home both had died the day before from the same virus :(
The vet was not very optimistic about my little guys chances but he agreed to put them on some antibiotics to see if that would make any difference. They have been on antibiotics for a few days now and are still pretty sick. There are good moments (they are eating again) and bad moments (they now have blood in their stool) but I cant and wont give up on them. Will keep you posted on Yuki (snow in Japanese) and iFlake's progress.

Now I am no fashion expert and for all I know people are taking photos of my crazy outfits too. However, I do believe there are some unspoken rules about what is universally appropriate to wear in public and what is not. The puzzling thing is that almost everyday I encounter such fascinating fashion flops that I cant help but stare in amazement. Below are my top 10 list of Fashion Faux Pas over the last few months.

3 - I don't even know where to start with this outfit!
4 - Socks with Sandals
5 - Very large bow in hair - not okay after age 5
6 - Fake mink fur tail attached to backpack
7 - World of Warcraft - boots of invisibility (level 7)
8 - Knee high black socks with white hightop reebok tennis shoes
9 - Bright orange heels with a professional business suit
