India - Udaipur Jagat Niwas Palace Hotel
Udaipur, known as the city of lakes, was the next stop on our India tour and where we spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We stayed at the Jagat Niwas Palace hotel - which is now a heritage hotel but was originally built as a small palace in the 17th century. We stayed in a Pichola Suit which was right on the lake and beautifully decorated.

Beautiful rooftop view of the Lake Palace hotel in the center of the lake which is where one of the James Bond movies was filmed. And yes I did try to get reservations at the restaurant there but was firmly told the restaurant was exclusively for guests of the hotel. You win some you lost some...

There is huge demand for the hotels in Udaipur because the yummy food. During the weekends the hotels are fully crowded.
