Cambodia - Balloon

Located 1km away from the Angkor Wat temple is a tethered hot air balloon that goes 180 meters into the sky to give a unique perspective of the temples. Being a pilot, Kingsley couldn't pass up the chance to check it out. For fun we asked our driver Hak to go up in the balloon with us.

The balloon does not operate if there is any wind and just as we arrived (of course) the wind picked up. The pilot agreed to take us up but I could sense he was a little nervous about it. The take-off and the way up were great but I could feel that we were rocking around a little bit as we started to descend. The last 20 feet of our descent were a little scary, the balloon was rocking a lot! You know it was a dangerous situation when the pilot is given high fives from the staff after landing!

Kingsley and Hak (I think he was amazed by the experience)

Stunning view from the top- Angkor Wat temple

Siem Reap- surrounded by rice patties
